Why do we rely on Swedish pasture-raised cattle?

Swedish pasture landscape

Clean soils

Sweden's soils are geologically among the cleanest in Europe. German soils, by contrast, are significantly more contaminated with heavy metals such as lead and cadmium due to early and intensive industrialisation. Even Demeter animals graze on German soils...

Strictest husbandry standards

Sweden has one of the strictest animal husbandry laws in Europe: mandatory pasture grazing in summer, a ban on growth hormones, one of the lowest levels of antibiotic use in the EU. Our cattle are unvaccinated.

100 % grass feeding

In Sweden, 100 % grass feeding is the standard. In Germany it is rather the exception. Most cattle in Germany are given supplementary concentrated feed (corn, soy). This measurably worsens the fatty acid profile, especially the omega-3 to omega-6 ratio.

What makes our product so special?

Three nutrients that occur naturally in the cartilage and connective tissue of cattle. 72 hours of slow simmering gently releases them from the bone. They end up in your cup in the same natural bond in which they occur in animal tissue.

  • Glucosamine natural component of the cartilage matrix, found in every joint capsule
  • Chondroitin sits in the cartilage tissue and is responsible for structure and elasticity
  • Hyaluronic acid component of joint fluid, skin layers and the vitreous body (eyes)

Beef bones are the animal's natural mineral depot. Over 72 hours of simmering, minerals and trace elements pass gently into the broth.

  • Calcium and phosphorus: main components of bone tissue, making up over 60% of bone mass
  • Magnesium and potassium: contained in the bone marrow and the bone matrix
  • Iron, zinc, copper, manganese, selenium: trace elements that occur naturally in beef bones

Glycine, proline and hydroxyproline are the building blocks of collagen and make the amino acid profile of bone broth so unique.

Heavy metals? Germs? None detected

Our Eurofins test report shows: all measured values are so low that they even fall below the limits of quantification of the test. That makes our test results 30 to 100 times lower than the permitted EU limits!

Eurofins Food & Feed Testing Sweden ISO/IEC 17025:2017 · SWEDAC 1977 · SS-EN ISO 17294-2:2016 · Batch SN3386 · 02/2026

WHAT'S NOT IN IT.

  1. NO SOY LECITHIN

A common emulsifier and carrier in industrial powders and pastes. In ours: not an ingredient.

  2. NO YEAST EXTRACT

A hidden flavor enhancer in almost every powdered broth. In ours, the bones deliver the flavor, nothing else.

  3. NO FLAVORINGS

Neither "natural flavoring" nor artificial. The flavor comes from the bones, nothing else.

  4. NO SOY IN THE FEED

Neither in the feed nor in the powder. Not a trace.

  5. NO MALTODEXTRIN

A cheap filler that makes the powder "free-flowing". It also makes it worse.

  6. NO ANTI-CAKING AGENTS

Silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate or tricalcium phosphate, the covert flow agents. We don't need them.

  7. NO SALT

Pure broth with nothing added. Season to taste yourself.

  8. NO PRESERVATIVES

Dry powder doesn't need any. Keeps for 18 months, no tricks.

Effects
What does bone broth do in my body?

Bone broth provides natural building blocks for your connective tissue: collagen, glycine, proline and hydroxyproline. These amino acids are present in skin, tendons, cartilage and bone. In addition, long simmering releases minerals from the bone marrow into the broth. Calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and trace elements. Plus glucosamine and chondroitin from the cartilage, the classic cartilage building blocks.

How much collagen is in Carnivoro bone broth?

8.4 grams of pure collagen protein per 100 ml of prepared broth. That corresponds to roughly 15 g of collagen powder per cup. Important: the collagen comes directly from the beef bones, not from hydrolyzed industrial extract. So you get the complete native amino acid profile, not just the building blocks.

Bone broth vs. collagen powder, what's the difference?

Collagen powder is usually hydrolyzed extract from animal hides, only the amino acid fragments, further processed.

Carnivoro bone broth is native collagen straight from beef bones with the complete amino acid profile PLUS minerals, glucosamine, chondroitin and hyaluronic acid. The full natural package instead of an isolated single extract.

Are there scientific studies on bone broth?

There are several studies on individual components, collagen, glycine, glucosamine/chondroitin, minerals. Research on bone broth as a whole is still limited. But traditional knowledge of broths goes back centuries and is part of many cultures worldwide.

How to use
How do I prepare the bone broth?

1 tablespoon (10 g) of Carnivoro bone broth in 200 ml of hot water. Stir briefly, done. Drink it pure, add a little salt, or use it as a base for soups, sauces, risotto or curries. One serving delivers around 8.4 g of collagen from bones.

Can I drink the broth cold?

Yes. The powder dissolves in hot or cold water. Hot as a cup, cold as a smoothie add-in or over salad. Concentrates and liquid broths have to be heated, with ours both work.

How often can I drink the bone broth?

There is no fixed minimum recommendation. Many of our customers drink a cup daily, others 2–3 times a week. A cup in the morning on an empty stomach is a popular way to start. Find your own rhythm. Consistency over time achieves more than a short intense phase.

Does bone broth fit intermittent fasting?

Yes. Carnivoro bone broth has only about 40 kcal per cup and no sugar, so it fits well into many fasting approaches. As a warm, satiating drink it helps you through long fasting windows while providing amino acids and minerals. Strict water-fasting days excepted, of course.

When is the best time of day for bone broth?

The classic: in the morning on an empty stomach, for a gentle start to the day and long-lasting satiety. Also popular: as a warm evening ritual or before workouts for the amino acid supply. There's no right or wrong, if it does you good, the time of day doesn't matter.

What does Carnivoro bone broth taste like?

Clear, robust, slightly salty, the typical pure beef broth taste, without overpowering spices. Not too fatty, a long finish. Many enjoy it pure; some season it with fresh pepper, herbs or a squeeze of lemon. Also perfect as a base for soups, sauces or risotto.

Is bone broth suitable for athletes?

Very popular with athletes. After training for the amino acid supply and natural electrolytes (sodium, potassium from the bone marrow). The 8.4 g of collagen per 100 ml are a building block for tendons, ligaments and cartilage tissue. Structures that are heavily stressed in sport.

Product
What sets Carnivoro apart from other bone broths?

Four concrete points:

1. 72-hour simmering time in an open kettle. Industry
usually cooks for under 4 hours.

2. 100% Swedish pasture-raised cattle, no grain feeding, traditional
animal husbandry.

3. A single ingredient. Beef bone broth powder. No
stabilizers, no glutamate, no flavorings.

4. Diamond Transparency Award on Judge.me, the highest trust level for
our product reviews.

Is the broth gluten-free and low in allergens?

Yes. Gluten-free, no soy in the feed or powder, no yeast extract, no maltodextrin, no anti-caking agents, no salt, no preservatives. One ingredient: beef bone broth powder.

Where do the cattle come from?

From Sweden, 100% grass-fed, traditional animal husbandry. Clean soils, strict animal welfare laws, low antibiotic use, unvaccinated cattle. More in the Sweden section.

What are the ingredients of the bone broth?

Beef bone broth powder from 100% Swedish pasture-raised cattle. Nothing else. One ingredient, no additives, no fillers.

Which bones is the broth made from?

We use a mix of marrow bones, joint bones and cartilage, exactly the parts classic bone broth is made from. Marrow bones provide most of the minerals; joint bones and cartilage provide the collagen content plus glucosamine and chondroitin. Only bones, no added meat.

Can I freeze Carnivoro bone broth?

The powder itself doesn't need freezing, it keeps dry for 18
months. If you want to freeze ready-mixed broth
(e.g. for later): freeze in portions in ice-cube trays or small
jars. Keeps 3–6 months in the freezer. Before drinking, simply
thaw and briefly reheat.

Bone broth during pregnancy, is that okay?

Bone broth has been a traditional,
nutrient-rich food for generations. Since every pregnancy is individual and
our broth contains salt and natural minerals, it's best to have a quick word
with your midwife or gynecologist
, they can best tell you whether
and in what amount it suits you.

Can children drink bone broth?

Yes.
Bone broth is a traditional food that children have known for
generations. For toddlers under 2 years a slightly more
diluted mix is recommended (less powder, more water); for older children
the normal dosage can be used. Very popular as a warm cup before
bedtime.

Bone broth and histamine intolerance?

Long-simmered broths can naturally have higher
histamine levels than freshly prepared foods. If you are sensitive:
start with small amounts (e.g. half a tablespoon) and
listen to your body. Freshly mixed powder in hot water is usually
better tolerated than broth that has been sitting for a while.

How long does the bone broth keep?

18 months unopened, stored cool and dry. After
opening, keep the pouch tightly sealed. Since the powder is dry,
we don't need any preservatives.
