Nutrient density in comparison.
Rings show % of the daily reference intake per 100 g. Number in the center = absolute amount.
Sources, methodology & bioavailability
Values per 100 g fresh weight (raw). Rings show % of the EU daily reference intake (NRV / EU Regulation 1169/2011). Full ring = 100% NRV reached or exceeded. Sources: USDA FoodData Central 2024 · BLS 3.02, MRI Karlsruhe. Not a promise of cure.
How the rings are calculated
Each ring shows: (nutrient content of the food per 100 g) ÷ (EU daily reference intake NRV) × 100. We deliberately show the total content of each food, including provitamins (for example beta carotene in the case of vitamin A). Differences in actual uptake (bioavailability) are explained per nutrient below. The centre of the ring shows the absolute content per 100 g.
Beef Organs mix weighting
Beef Organs = weighted mix: beef spleen 35% · beef liver 30% · beef heart 20% · beef kidney 15%. Nutrient contents per 100 g fresh: vitamin B12 ~26.6 µg · vitamin A ~1,510 µg RAE · iron (total) ~18.1 mg · choline ~228 mg · folate ~104 µg · riboflavin (B2) ~1.6 mg.
NRV reference values
Vitamin B12: 2.5 µg · vitamin A: 800 µg · iron: 14 mg · folate: 200 µg · riboflavin (B2): 1.4 mg, in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, Annex XIII. Choline: 400 mg (EFSA Adequate Intake, not an official EU NRV).
Vitamin A: as retinol activity equivalent (RAE)
We include provitamin A (beta carotene), counted as retinol activity equivalent (RAE) using the official EU and USDA conversion factors (beta carotene 12:1, alpha carotene 24:1). That is why carrots (~835 µg RAE) and kale (~500 µg RAE) show their real provitamin A contribution here. Important: this conversion in the body is individual and often lower than the RAE value suggests (depending on genetics, fat intake and gut health). Beef organs, by contrast, supply preformed retinol, which is directly usable and needs no conversion.
Riboflavin (B2)
NRV 1.4 mg (EU). Liver and kidney in the mix are genuinely rich in B2.
Iron: heme vs. non-heme
The rings show total iron (NRV basis). Beef Organs supplies ~40% of that as haem iron, which the body takes up at an absorption rate of 15–35%, compared with 2–20% for non-haem iron from plants (Hurrell & Egli 2010). Chia seeds (7.7 mg/100 g) contain exclusively non-haem iron; the amount that is effectively bioavailable is considerably lower than the ring suggests.
Vitamin B12
Only animal foods contain bioavailable B12. Plants (blueberries, carrots, kale, chia) supply no usable B12, so they show 0% here. That is not a simplification, it is biologically correct.
Choline
No official EU NRV. Basis: EFSA Adequate Intake (AI) = 400 mg/day. Eggs show 63% NRV here, more than Beef Organs (57% NRV). We show that openly.
Folate (B9)
Kale (141 µg/100 g = 70% NRV) is above Beef Organs (104 µg = 52% NRV). We show that openly. Beef Organs makes its case on other nutrients.

Still have questions?
Effects
Are the capsules suitable for pregnant women?
Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking them. Beef liver contains naturally occurring vitamin A (retinol), and the intake of it during pregnancy should be assessed individually.
Who are the capsules suitable for?
The Beef Organs capsules are aimed at adults who want to supplement their diet with a concentrated, unprocessed source of nutrients. They are especially popular with people who follow a nutrient dense, animal based diet or who cannot or do not want to prepare fresh organs in everyday life.
Why do the capsules not carry an "organic" seal?
The EU organic seal has very specific legal requirements for certification chains that we currently cannot document in full, even though our animals come from pasture farming without hormones and antibiotics. "Organic" is a legal term and not a promise of quality in itself. We forgo the seal because we do not make claims we cannot fully substantiate.
What nutrients are naturally present in beef organs?
Beef organs naturally contain: Vitamin A (retinol), B12, folate, B6, riboflavin, heme-iron Copper, zinc, selenium, phosphorus, choline, CoQ10, L-Carnitine and digestive enzymes from the pancreas. All information refers to naturally occurring levels in freeze-dried bovine organs.
What are the advantages of freeze-dried beef organs over heated capsules?
Freeze-drying removes water under vacuum at low temperatures. Heat sensitive structures such as enzymes and certain vitamins are preserved far better than with industrial high temperature drying. Conventional organ capsules are often spray dried or heated, which can alter these structures.
How to use
Do I have to store the capsules in the fridge?
No. Thanks to the freeze-drying, the capsules keep for up to 24 months at room temperature, as long as they are stored dry and protected from light. After opening, simply close the lid firmly.
Can I combine the capsules with other Carnivoro products?
Yes. The Beef Organs capsules go well with our Beef Bone Broth and our cod liver oil. Together they cover a broad spectrum of organ meat nutrients. There are no known interactions with this combination.
How many capsules do I take per day?
8 capsules daily are recommended, ideally split into 2 doses (for example 4 in the morning, 4 in the evening). That corresponds to one serving. You can take the capsules with water or with a meal.
Product
What sets Carnivoro apart from other organ capsules?
Most organ capsules on the market contain only beef liver, often from conventional farming and dried at high heat. Carnivoro Beef Organs combines 4 different organs (liver, heart, kidney, spleen) from 100 % grass-fed cattle, gently freeze-dried, without fillers or additives.
What do the capsules taste like?
The capsules are neutral in taste and smell. Freeze-drying removes the typical flavour of offal completely. You can swallow them with a glass of water without any concern.
How many servings are in one pack?
One pack contains 240 capsules. At the recommended daily dose of 8 capsules this gives 30 servings, which corresponds to a one month supply.
Are the capsules gluten-free and lactose-free?
Yes. The capsules contain no gluten, no lactose, no soy and no artificial additives. The contents are the freeze-dried beef organs and the capsule shell made from bovine gelatine.
What is in the capsules?
4 freeze-dried beef organs (liver, heart, kidney, spleen) plus the capsule shell made from bovine gelatine. No other ingredients, fillers or additives. The organs come from cattle raised on 100% pasture, without hormones and antibiotics.
Practical
Can I take the capsules on an empty stomach?
Yes. The capsules can be taken on an empty stomach or with a meal. If you have a sensitive stomach, we recommend taking them with a meal.
Can I open the capsules and add the contents to yoghurt or a smoothie?
Yes. The capsules open easily and the powder can be stirred straight into yoghurt, a smoothie or other foods. Thanks to the freeze-drying, the powder is neutral in smell and taste.
