What is tallow?
Tallow is gently processed beef tallow from grass-fed cattle. An ancient, natural fat that was once used for ointments, creams and healing balms and is now rightly making a comeback. Its fatty acid structure resembles the natural sebum of human skin and is therefore absorbed particularly well.

Many conventional lip balms are based on mineral oils or synthetic ingredients. Aurendis takes a different route.
We rely on traditional raw materials:

Why tallow?
Tallow is one of the most traditional skincare ingredients there is.
Its fatty acid profile resembles the natural lipids of human skin. That is why tallow feels particularly pleasant on the lips and leaves no artificial or sticky film.
Tallow has been used for generations to care for dry and stressed skin.
Why beeswax?
Beeswax forms a natural protective film on the lips and helps to keep moisture in.
At the same time it protects the sensitive skin of the lips from wind, cold and dry air, without sealing the skin completely.
Combined with tallow it creates a simple, natural recipe that does exactly what a good lip balm should do: care and protect.
A small hole in the middle? That is nature.
With our lip balm a small hole or a small dip can occasionally form in the middle of the stick.
That is not a quality defect but a natural property of real raw materials.
As they cool, tallow and beeswax contract slightly. This can create a small dip in the core of the lip balm.
Many industrial products prevent this effect with additional stabilisers, hardeners or other processing aids.
We deliberately do without them.
The small hole shows that the lip balm was made from natural ingredients that are allowed to behave as their nature intends.
